Karen Kearns is an accomplished author having written five textbooks that are used prominently throughout Australian Vocational Training Providers. Her textbooks (now in their 4th editions) have won numerous awards including the Australian Publishers Association Award (APA) for ‘best textbooks in a series’. The series contains four books – Birth to Big School and The Big Picture which cover the core units in Certificate III, and Frameworks for Learning and Development and the Business of Childcare covering the remaining core units in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. The books are published by Australia’s leading Vocational textbook publisher, Cengage Learning Australia. Karen has also written ‘Supporting Education’ for students undergoing the Certificate III in Educational Support. This book was short-listed for the APA award in 2012 and is highly respected and valued by trainers and students in this field.
