CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This entry level qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings.

ICCC’s entry level program provides you with hands-on experience to gain a thorough understanding of what it’s like to be an early childhood educator working with young children and families. You will develop skills and knowledge in:

building and creating play resources to support children 0 – 6years

caring for babies, toddlers, and young children

working with families

supporting children’s development and well-being

identifying and responding to children and young people at risk

sustainable practices in a children’s centre

observing, analysing and gathering information to plan for children’s learning

Assessment is ongoing throughout the training period – there are no final exams. Assessment includes:

Knowledge assessment (Theory Tasks)

Skills assessment (Workplace Tasks)

Observation assessment (Observable Tasks)

Included in the course are the award-winning textbooks: The Big Picture and Birth to Big School.


Students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement to be eligible to receive the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (includes 30 hours workplace experience with children under 24 months).


Students must be at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment.
