You will develop skills and knowledge in:

  • observing, analysing and gathering information to plan for children’s learning
Assessment includes:
  • Knowledge assessment (Online Theory Tasks)
  • Skills assessment (Workplace Tasks)
  • Observation assessment (Observable tasks)

 

Assessment is ongoing throughout the training period – there are no final exams.

Trainee

CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is ICCC’s entry level program, providing you with hands-on experience to gain a thorough understanding of what it’s like to be an early childhood educator working with young children and families. This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings.

 

Study mode: Online + Workplace training
Duration: 18 months full-time, 36 months part-time

Conditions of Enrolment

  • Students must be a minimum age of 16 to be eligible for enrolment;
  • Students must be employed in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care service as a New Entrant Trainee.

 

Fees: $0 to $9,790 – Fee Free for eligible NSW New Entrant Traineeships with training starting between 1/1/2020 and 30/06/2027

NSW learners may be eligible for subsidies under NSW Smart and Skilled Entitlement training programs.

Student Information if you are currently a Trainee or employed as an Educator at a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care service

School Based Apprenticeship/Traineeship (SBAT)

ICCC’s SBAT program provides hands-on experience to gain a thorough understanding the role of an early childhood educator working with young children & families, while still at school to complete your HSC.

 

Study mode: Online + Workplace Training
Duration: 24 months (High School Years 11 & 12)
Start Dates: Beginning of Term 4, Year 10 or End of Term 1, Year 11

 

Conditions of Enrolment

  • Students must be a minimum age of 16 to be eligible for enrolment;
  • Students must be currently attending school;
  • Students must be employed in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care service as a School Based Trainee;
  • Students must be able to complete a minimum of 100 days in paid employment.

 

Fees: $0 – Fee Free for eligible NSW Traineeships with training starting between 1/1/2020 – 30/06/2027

  • Students need to be physically fit as the role involves providing direct personal care, lifting and other physically demanding activities;
  • A Working with Children Check is required to participate in this course.

 

Learners will need access to the internet and a computer with the following specifications:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 or Mac OS X
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Access to a printer
